Champions of Courage

My “Champion of Courage” is Jackie Nickel. She was a writer and reporter for the Baltimore County newspaper “The Avenue News.” She passed away August, 2007.
Ms. Nickel taught me to fight for what I believe in, just like Dr. King. She fought in zoning court against developers and politicians for the people, and for the community alike. I, one day want to be that active in my community and help others.
I look up to Ms. Jackie and want to be like her and Dr. King.
Ms. Jackie was such a great person.
May she rest in peace.
